Moma Coffee Table Book

I was tasked with designing a book cover that featured a modern artist and an effective title treatment; a cover design that embodied “coffee table” book quality through its use of imagery, color, balance of positive and negative space, and typography; a chapter introduction page for the book that included the artist’s name, chapter title, topics, descriptive text, and images. I needed to make it consistent with the cover and combine text and images to provide a strong template that can carry throughout the book.

Choosing Annie Leibowitz as the modern artist was an easy decision- her images are all strong, bold, and they each make a statement.  I simply had to find a way to put them all together where the images and the text worked together and didn’t compete with each other.
